Description of the problem | When trying to accelerate from a low speed, maybe 20 mph or less, the transmission often does not deliver any power to the drive wheels (the motor revs up but the vehicle does not accelerate). Also, when climbing a hill at normal road speeds the transmission often does not down shift, to the point where the motor almost stalls, and the few times that it does down shift there is an explosive increase in engine rpms resulting in an almost uncontrollable burst of vehicle speed. Chevrolet says this is the way it's designed to work. If it is, it's the first vehicle i've seen, or even heard about, that does these dangerous things. |
