Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. While reversing at 2 mph, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to slow down. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the micro switch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly failed and the switch, vacuum pump, and pipe assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v360000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The approximate failure mileage was 33,000. |
