Description of the problem | Engine burned a quart of oil per 1,000 miles, had to monitor it regularly. Odometer had just gone over 100,000 miles. The engine has now blown. Had just added a quart of oil because it was low again, and the next day while driving, it started missing, knocking violently, and expelled a large puff of smoke and died. Now will not start and mechanic said there was no oil was in the engine. Apparently this is a known issue with equinox we are finding out, but dealer states there are no recalls. |
