Description of the problem | 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500, airbag sensor and check engine light came on with out accident or incident. We called gm and they told us to take it to a dealer. We took to the dealer we bought the truck from new. They ran diagnostic testing and it came back evaporative emission sensor and inflatable restraint front sensor were bad. As a safety/emissions problem it should have been covered under warranty. They gave us a $600 bill in which we made them call the gm representative. They then had us pay $250. 2 1/2 years later and airbag sensor light is back on without accident. This seems to be a big complaint with this year truck. It seems that if the sensor is not working and my family were to be in an accident my airbags would not deploy and we could be hurt or killed in an accident. Please investigate the air bag sensors. |
