Description of the problem | Takata recall. Gm recall number 49151. I was notified (by mail) in july 2016 that "a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain gm 2008 model year chevrolet silerado ld vehicles." it was my understanding that gm had until august 2017 to determine if my vehicle would receive parts to remedy my vehicle. I have not been contacted again. I called the dealer once and they said my vehicle is safe to drive - as it is also stated in the july 2016 notice. I believe it is unreasonable to wait this long for resolution. I am scared to have passengers in my vehicle and i am not comfortable selling a potentially defective vehicle to another person. It reduces the value of my truck and possibly makes me liable for injuries if i sell it to someone else. I need my airbag replaced immediately. |
