Description of the problem	On our 2008 chevy silverado 1500 lt 4x4 z71, the dashboard has cracked so badly where the passenger airbag is, that if the airbag were to deploy, plastic shrapnel is going to go flying, which could injure or possibly kill someone. On the flipside; the airbag may not even deploy due to the damaged dashboard. In either case, this is a major safety issue that gm refuses to acknowledge, despite now thousands of customers tahoes, suburbans, and (all chevy & gmc trucks & suv's 2007 and newer) having the exact same issue. After multiple calls to chevy and gm, and them being extremely rude and in denial; the best they can do is to replace the dash for a price of $200-500, which we currently don't have, and should not have to pay for, as gm should stand behind the safety of their vehicles after charging the prices they do. In the meantime, we don't feel safe even driving our truck down the street. This is a serious safety issue, and needs to be an urgent recall, before someone is killed! There are message boards, facebook pages, and twitter accounts all set up just for frustrated chevy & gmc customers having the cracked dashboard and airbag issue, so please investigate this problem, nhtsa. Since gm refuses to help it's thousands of scared customers, we pray you will help to stop this madness.
