Description of the problem | While driving home from work the vehicle started making noises and shaking. We took it to the shop to find out the issue was caused by the lifters which are being housed by plastic. According to the mechanic lifters should be held by metal not plastic due to the nature of the requirement on this type of vehicle. Using plastic to house the lifters is a bound issue. Other parts affected or that had to be changed due to this issue (cam, head set, guides, timer, set wire, set head, coolant, oil and filter). It cost us $3,911. 04 to get the truck fixed since the engine basically had to be removed to get to the lifters. This should never have happened if the lifters were stabilized in the correct type of material. We feel a recall should be made for this issue and we should be reimbursed. |
