Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard a loud explosion inside the vehicle without warning. The cabin of the vehicle was filled with smoke. The vehicle was taken to rossi chevrolet buick gmc (360 nj-31, washington, nj 07882, (908) 364-2789) where it was diagnosed that the driver's seat belt tensioner had exploded. There were no injuries. The contact was also informed that the air bags, driver and passenger side seat belt pre-tensioners, and the air bag control module deactivation module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000. |
