Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500. While the vehicle was at the dealer for maintenance, the contact was informed that the power steering gear rack showed a fluid leak. If the leak persisted, the power steering gears would have to be replaced. The contact was informed that the leak was non-repairable. The contact referenced tsb number: 070232002. The contact stated the dealer failed to follow the corrective action stated in the tsb and there was an abnormal noise coming from the steering. The dealer diagnosed that the steering gear rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000. |
