Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500. While the vehicle was undergoing routine maintenance at 1,522 miles, a power steering fluid leak was discovered under the vehicle. The power steering was inspected to diagnose the origin of the leak. The contact was informed that there was a fluid leak present and a notation would be made. The contact was informed that the vehicle would be repaired per tsb: sb-07-02-32-002n if the power steering needed to be replaced again. At 30,000 miles, the contact heard an abnormal noise emitting from the power steering pump. The contact was informed that the power steering pump needed to be repaired. Due to the power steering fluid leak, the manufacturer refused to honor the repair per the technical service bulletin. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. |
