Description of the problem	Tl* the contact called on behalf of her son who was the vehicle owner/driver of a 2015 chevrolet tahoe. While driving at approximately 45-50 mph, the vehicle crashed into a tree. The contact was concerned that the collison may have been related to existing recalls on the vehicle. The driver was fatally injured. The contact was the mother of the driver. The contact stated that while her son was driving between 45-50 mph, he lost control of the vehicle, jumping a curb, and crashed into a tree. During the crash the air bags did deploy but the driver was not wearing a seat belt. The driver was fatally injured during the crash and sustained two broken legs. The contact stated that based on the police and ems reports received, the middle console had been ripped off by the driver during the incident in an attempt to brace himself for the collision. The report also mentioned that no tire skid marks were present at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed from the scene. The contact stated that the event data recorder (edr) was destroyed. As a result, the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The contact discovered that the vin was later included in nhsta campaign numbers: 18v586000 (steering) and 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the incident.
