Description of the problem | As i approached a red light the brake pedal depressed nearly to the floor and with no warning a popping noise sounded from the vehicle followed by the brake pedal suddenly depressing completely into the floor. I was able to safely pull the vehicle to the side of the road and get the vehicle to a safe location given the lack of braking abilities. This is a several ton vehicle and i expect the brakes to work at all times. This is unacceptable. I brought the vehicle to the dealer once before to remedy this recall but it was clearly not fixed. The loss of braking ability was followed by a message on the dash stating "service braking system immediately", followed by "service brake assist". A light illuminated on the dash as well and i am unsure of the specific meaning of this light. A second light showing "abs" was flashing to also catch my attention to the current issue at hand. |
