Description of the problem | Airbag light came on in mid to late 2018. Car had ~65,000 at the time. Had the car diagnosed at the dealership and they said it was a wiring harness and charged me $300 to fix it. March 2019, the airbag light comes on. It appears on the dash for no apparent reason as i'm driving at highway speeds. After the initial audible and visual alarm, the visual alarm stays on and the audible alarm repeats every minute. Returned the car to the dealership (autopark chrysler jeep in cary, north carolina) expecting that the repair would be covered due to the recent repair. They told me it was a different wiring harness and it would be ~$3300. When i asked the service manager if the car was hazardous to drive, he responded "absolutely". I have since parked the car and it has sat idle since. |
