Description of the problem | I am filing a complaint to express my frustration and anger. Also because it states on the recall notice i received that i can submit a written complaint if the dealership "fails to remedy this defect within a reasonable time". There is a recall on my vehicle, the transaxle park rod. The recall notice advised to contact the dealership on or after may 1, 2015 to schedule a service appointment. I did so a week later and brought my vehicle in on saturday, may 16th. A few hours after dropping off my vehicle, i received a call informing me that my vehicle did not pass the recall test and that they needed to keep my vehicle for a few days. I then received a call the following monday, may 18th and was informed that the part needed to fix my vehicle is on back-order!!! I called the dealership today because it's been two weeks now that i've been without my vehicle. They told me that the part is still on back-order and that we're on the waiting list. What the [xxx] is that?! I understand that my vehicle is being repaired without charge but this is an extreme inconvenience and is ridiculous. I don't understand how the part is not available or a limited supply of it. To hear the dealership tell me that they are unsure when they will be receiving the part and that i'm on the "wait-list" is very upsetting and frustrating. I even asked if i could just get my car and have them call me when the part arrives and they told me "no because it isn't safe to drive." okay, i understand that, i get it, but i've been driving the vehicle for [xxx] near a year now, and had no safety problems with it. So why can't i have my vehicle in my possession? I just want my freaking car back!!! And not knowing a time frame is very unsettling. So please enlighten me on what chrysler considers a "reasonable time" for remedying this defect? Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). |
