Description of the problem | At approximately 1002 hours the driver pulled off of the ramp from hwy 41 turning right onto hwy 60 west. While on the ramp of hwy 41 the vehicle appeared to be exerting black smoke from what appeared to be under the hood of the vehicle. Driver pulled over immediately after seeing black smoke. Driver then turned off the vehicle and exited. Driver then called msg urban (rrb ncoic) to inform her that the vehicle was smoking. After exiting and walking away from the vehicle at approximately 1005 hours driver observed the vehicle start on fire and proceeded to call 911. At approximately 1008 hours a slinger police officer arrived at the scene, along with a washington county sheriff and the slinger fire department. Driver was traveling at a speed of 8 or below due to pulling off to the side of the highway. This incident occurred in daylight, weather conditions were sunny and fair. |
