Description of the problem | On may 15, 2020 while attempting to back out of a parking spot at the post office my car dinged at me. The dash notification told me to pull over in safe spot, park car, and shift into park, and service shifter light came on. I was only 2 miles from my home so i proceeded home and called the dealership service center. I explained the issue and they told me to bring it in. I asked if it was okay to drive and they said yes. I scheduled to take it in the following morning. The mechanic looked at it and asked me if i had changed the transmission. No same transmission as was in it when i bought it. They tried telling me that the software did not match the transmission and needed a software update, which they did and allegedly retested it. Everything fine now they said. Yesterday, june 9, 2020, i was driving home from work and the car started dinging at me. The transmission light came on and dash notification to service transmission. The car starting losing power and did not want to move with the transmission wanting to shift into neutral. Came to stop light and car did not want to move. I had cars behind me that almost hit me because my car shifted to neutral. It started moving then shifted from drive to neutral. I was able to get it home (only 1 mile) and tried to back it into driveway. Dash said to shift into park and then desired gear so i did. Nothing!!!! It would not register reverse. I was in the middle of the street blocking an oncoming car. I was able to get it register neutral and it rolled back so the car could get past me. After turning the car off and back on it finally registered reverse and i got it in the driveway. Call dealership to tell them. They say no recall, nothing wrong. Seriously??? This is a recall issue even if my vin isn't listed as they claim. The car shifts to neutral as you are driving down the road. Fix this issue and recall all of them. |
