Description of the problem | As reported on at least 7 other cars, the electrical connection on top of the fuel pump heated up so much a hole was melted in the plastic allowing fuel to escape the tank and sit in a puddle under the back seat. The odor of gas was too strong to remain in the car. Police patrol unit, natchez police, #260. This vehicle was serviced by the city barn 3/1 and no problem was detected. The problem became noticed over the weekend. The attached picture shows the heat scorching within the electrical connection and the invasive hole around the right most pin. |
