Description of the problemTl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. While driving, the transmission malfunctioned and shifted gears. The failure occurred intermittently during the change of seasons. The failure occurred originally when the vehicle was first purchased. The vehicle was taken to huntington jeep chrysler dodge ram (1220 e jericho turnpike, huntington, ny 11743, (631) 993-3300) where the transmission was reprogrammed. When the vehicle was purchased, the contact suspected there was an issue because the dealer was attempting to repair a defective part. The vehicle was also brought back at the time of purchase for overconsumption of oil. The contact had to pay for an oil consumption test, which was still an ongoing issue with the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who referred the contact back to the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls and advised the contact to call nhtsa. The failure mileage was 10,000.
