Description of the problem | About 1 year ago, the brakes went out while going down a hill on the way to work. They said it was the brake booster and some other part related to that. The brakes have not been working correctly since it was fixed, but the dealership insists that they are fine. I left the car with them for 2 weeks and they could not get the brakes to fail. On 1/15/16 when i pulled into my driveway, the brakes gave way again. I backed up and drove in again, and they did it repeatedly. It was like they couldn't catch or something, you could feel the jerk of the brakes as i tried to apply them. We have been given the run-around for almost a year, and were told that the brakes were fixed and fine. We received a recall notice from chrysler saying there is no permanent fix for the problem, yet they refuse to let us past the entry level people operating the phone. I am in danger every time i have to drive my car. We have gotten no where in the past year with chrysler, and have been repeatedly lied to about the safety of the brakes. The proof of those lies is in the recall which clearly says there is no fix for this problem at the present time. That means that my brakes could fail at any time and i cannot go about my normal life in a panic about driving to and from work, or the grocery store, or have anyone in the car with me, because i am always preparing for an inevitable crash. I should not have to live this way, and they have known all along that there was a problem, and have done nothing to make it right, but have done everything to pretend it did not exist. I should not be forced to continue paying for a car that will one day result in my death or injury. This car should be bought back from me if there is any fairness at all, otherwise i have paid on time for two years on a car that is faulty and dangerous. This puts me at a disadvantage when going to buy a new car with no trade in. |
