Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge dart. While driving 40 mph, the brake pedal was applied, but failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (davis moore located at 7675 e kellogg dr wichita, ks 67207) where it was diagnosed that the vacuum tubes needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. In 2016 the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa recall campaign number 15v80000(brakes). Upon inspection it was determined that not enough oil was present inside the brake booster to cause a failure and the booster was not replaced. The dealer replaced only the vacuum tube but approximately 1 year later the brake booster had failed. The manufacturer was contacted and authorized the vehicle to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for a second time and the brake booster was replaced on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 67,000. |
