Description of the problem | While driving 35 mph the battery light illuminated, the dashboard lights started going on and off, and the windshield wipers activated. The car then lost all power, acceleration, and power steering. The car was towed to my mechanic who diagnosed a failed alternator. After the alternator was replaced, the car still would not function properly. The car then had to be towed to the nearest dealer who diagnosed a powertrain control module failure(pcm). The pcm was on backorder but part was received 1 week later. The pcm had to be replaced and reprogrammed. Dodge refuses to take responsibility for the alternator that failed due to the faulty pcm. |
