Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. While the vehicle was stationary, the alternator caught fire and the contact smelled a burning odor through the air conditioner vents. A police report was filed. The fire department extinguished the fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to auto-excel in akron, ohio where it was determined that nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system) was the cause of the fire. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. |
