Description of the problem | The passenger side active headrest restraint mechanism activated while driving down a straight city street. There was no impact/collision involved. Vehicle only had driver at the time so no passenger was injured however the event caused significant driver distraction and could have led to a collision. If a passenger was present, serious head, neck, and/or upper back injury could have occurred. Vehicle was taking to dealership for repairs. Dealership noted that both retaining brackets were broken. Chrysler is paying for the repair. This complaint is for notification to the nhtsa for follow-up investigation to ensure this is not a manufacturing defect and safety issue for other drivers. |
