Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 dodge durango. The contact stated that at start-up there was an abnormal tapping sound coming from the engine, without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics who were unable to diagnose the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered online by other dodge durango owners that the defect was related to the engine lifters. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The contact was provided a case number and transferred to nhtsa for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. |
