Description of the problem	I am experiencing a thumping noise in the rear end of my vehicle when moving on any surface with the slightest imperfection. When taken to the dealership to be checked out they found that the rear shocks are causing the abnormal noise. In my own research on these (rather expensive) shocks i have found that they should not be failing in under 100k miles which my vehicle is under and i have also found in a couple forums that they have a known defect. However chrysler claims there is no service bulletin or recall on them. Several independent repair shops have also made the comment that i should not be having this sort of issue with these shocks and that i should contact chrysler to see if they would cover them. The customer service rep that i spoke with at chrysler advised me to make a complaint with the nhtsa. Chrysler call reference number: 57340981. These particular shocks have been quoted to me by the factory service department at $477. 00 each and are not covered under the 5 year 100k mile power train warranty.
