Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2015 dodge durango. While driving various speeds with the air conditioner activated, the defroster failed to defrost the windows. The contact also heard an abnormal noise coming from the air conditioning unit. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air conditioner evaporator core failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Another independent mechanic was also contacted and scheduled an appointment for diagnostic testing. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The contact was concerned for her safety due to the possibility of the failure occuring in the extremely hot weather conditions. The failure mileage was approximately 82,201. |
