Description of the problem | My 2016 dodge journey experienced a crankshaft position sensor "a" circuit malfunction (obd code p0335) while i was driving, resulting in an engine stall and total loss of power. Nearly resulted in a crash. I've since observed from other drivers that this is a very common failure on the dodge journey, and a serious safety issue. A recall for this problem (safety recall s89 / nhtsa 16v-907) was issued in february 2017, but applies only to a limited number of vehicles built from may to july 2016. Based on my own experience and that of other owners as reported online, i believe the issue is more widespread than the nhtsa apparently believes, and i suggest that the existing recall be expanded considerably. |
