Consequence summary | This condition can result in structural cracks in the body, and reduced crash protection in the event of a rear impact. |
Corrective action | Dealers will inspect the vehicles for any missing welds, and will have structural rivets installed in place of the missing welds. |
Recall notes | Owner notification began february 2, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.
