Description of the problem | Purchased a 2010 ford edge sel awd on july 27, 2009. On august 12, 2009, vehicle began bellowing smoke from the wheel wells. Brought the vehicle in for service to be told that the ptu seal was blown. They replaced the seal and installed a deflector so as to not be able to smell the burning fluid as quickly. Ford has been issuing technical service bulletins on this since 2007. Due to the fluid loss, it causes the transmission to slip. Ford continues to claim that it cannot duplicate the problem. Also, the engine is squealing loudly, due to the issues mentioned above. |
