Description of the problem | A loud "hissing" noise can be heard when depressing the brake pedal. Brakes feel "spongey" and require considerable effort to bring the vehicle to a full stop. I took the car into tire kingdom for diagnosis and was told the rotors and brake pads on the front of the vehicle needed replaced. This was completed only to find it did not resolve the problem. The manager contacted ford and was advised there is a recall on the power brake booster for the make, model, and year of my vehicle. I contacted ford to schedule the repair and was told that my vin is not part of the recall and the repair would not be covered. When i questioned further i was advised the recall only covers "some" of the cars assembled at the oakville plant with my make, model , and year and that they could not cover the replacement of this faulty equipment. |
