Description of the problem | Brake pedal became very hard when pushing brakes and would not slow vehicle for first couple of seconds and then only when pushing the pedal as hard as possible. This was accompanied by a hissing sound. Ford dealer said the issue was a defective brake booster and a recall had been issued but was stopped with vehicles manufactured 3 weeks before mine. The symptoms described in the recall are exactly the same as what i experienced. The brake booster was replaced and corrected the problem. I feel this should have been part of the recall and reported as the issue came on unexpectedly and caused an extremely dangerous situation. |
