Description of the problem | I bought the vehicle new, and have slightly over 42,000 miles on it. In november 2018, when driving on a 2 lane road in the city, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration and the wrench light on the dashboard came on. I had to quickly maneuver to the side of the road as the vehicle lost speed and came to a stop. Pushing down on the accelerator would not do anything. I had to have the car towed to a dealer, where they diagnosed that the throttle body was binding due to carbon build-up. The dealer replaced the throttle body and cleaned the fuel injection system and fuel metering system. As the vehicle was no longer under warranty, i had to pay over $650 for the repairs. |
