Description of the problem | Brake booster needed to be replaced at 20,239 miles. Less than 2 years later the replacement brake booster failed and had to be replaced at 42,480 miles. It seems every 2 years or 20,000 miles the brake booster fails. Fortunately when the brakes failed, it was right after start up and backing out of parking spaces. The pedal became stiff with no stopping power. I had the booster replaced in both instances immediately after the first symptoms of failure occurred. Fortunately the failures did not occur while on city streets or highways. There was a recall on the 2011 thru 2013 ford edge models. You may consider including the 2014 edge for a recall as well. |
