Description of the problem | 2015 ford edge titanium panoramic sunroof. The laminated glass started cracking above the front passenger seat while parked. Over the following 2 days (approximately 150 miles of highway driving at 45 -55 mph), the crack extended and divided to form a mass of wavy cracks across the whole glass. Only the exterior layer of glass has cracked at tbhs point but the roof creaks and flexes and will potentialy completely fail at some point. I dare not open the roof in case it fails completely. There are no indications of impact at any point on the roof ("bulls eyes"), and the cracks look to be caused by stress caused by the way the glass is mounted, or how the supporting structure is strengthened (or not) against flexing |
