Description of the problem | Service engine light came on and there was a coolant leak. No light warning that coolant was low ever came on for the vehicle, the car turned the motor off while driving down the interstate. Ford dealership reports that there is a technical service bulletin for this complaint that recommends the engine be replaced. The vehicle has less than 65,000 miles and should not need such extensive repairs as an entire engine replacement. If there is a technical service bulletin for this problem, then it appears that this problem is known by ford and they are not addressing it properly, because the vehicle is only 3,000 miles past the powertrain warranty. This is not a safety issue or a recall and it should be. |
