Description of the problem | My wife and i each drive a ford escape, one a 2010 and the other a 2009. In the last month we have each experienced a sudden and unexpected complete loss of power. In her case, she was driving on an interstate at highway speeds in moderate traffic. I was driving in suburban traffic at 40 mph. In each case, the engine suddenly stopped, no power, and the warning lights came on. After about five minutes, you were able to re-start, but the problem persists, so it is not safe to drive the car. The repair costs about $550 for each one, the dealer indicated it was a throttle body and motor assembly.. |
