Description of the problem | On 9/20/13 @app 16:00 , i was on i81 / ny 17 in friday traffic . With no warning other then the warning light ( wrench light ) on the dash, my 2010 ford escape stop running . No throttle response , no power , no nothing . Being able to coast to the shoulder , i was able to restart the engine and continue . When this happened i was app. 2 - miles from my exit and home . The vehicle quit 3 times before i was able to get it there. Spoke with ford dealer , and had it repaired on 9/23/13. :fault electronic throttle body control . My concern is the way it happened with no warning . Minutes before it happened i was in a major construction detour ( i 81 /nys 17 , 5 year bridge replacement ) . If this had happened moments earlier , i not sure what would have happened . I feel this needs to be review ,understanding this is not the first ford vehicles this has happened to. *js |
