Description of the problemDriving this morning at 30 miles per hour and i feel my 2010 escape lose power no response when pushing the accelerator. Wrench engine light comes on and i put my car in neutral and press the accelerator but nothing happens. Engine never appeared to die it felt like it was still running just was not responding. I turned off the escape and turned it back on with no problems. This has happened several times in the past but recently got a new battery which it had felt like it fixed the problem because the escape no longer was sluggish when driving or changing gears with a jerk like it had in the past. Battery is only a month old and oil change was done at the same time. I have researched and there are currently 231 complaints that have been reported on power train failure and every story sounds just like mine. This is a huge safety risk since the car no longer responds while driving. Please consider recall.
