Description of the problem | I lost all acceleration in my escape when i drove forward from a complete stop. I thought the engine had died, but it actually was surging. I was able to drive about 1 1/2 miles home at a speed of no more than 10 mph. The vehicle is at the ford dealer, who advised that the throttle body needs to be replaced. The back order time for this part is up to a week, so i am forced to rent a car in the meantime. I hope this now massive problem (i have been investigating) leads to an immediate recall. My situation could have resulted in a serious or fatal accident, as i was crossing a major highway as the failure occurred. |
