Description of the problem | Driving my vehicle on a residential street i began to lose power to the gas pedal. My 2010 ford escape began to act as though it would stall however all i could do was coast to a side street to get out of the way of traffic behind me. Once in park i noticed the wrench light come on my dashboard. I shut the truck off and restarted to which the light indicator went away and the vehicle acted fine. I had the truck towed to my local dealership where i was told it was the throttle body that needs to be replaced. This part is on national backorder! I will be without my vehicle for possible 30 business days. Ford will only give me a rental for 4 days! Why is this not a recall yet? I thank god i was not on the highway with my two small children in the car with me. This is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed appropriately by ford. |
