Description of the problem | Driving along 5-lane interstate at approximately 70-75 mph when my 2010 ford escape's engine essentially cut out on me. A yellow wrench light came on as well. I avoided several passing cars and semis on this very busy thoroughfare outside our nation's capital and luckily found safety on the right shoulder. After powering down the vehicle, thinking that it may be a computer error, i restarted and everything seemed find. Again, no more than a couple miles down the road the same issue happened. Found a ford dealer eventually and replaced the throttle body. $600 out of pocket cost for something that should be under powertrain warranty. |
