Description of the problem | The power steering failed with out notice on my wife and caused her to lose control entering our driveway. She drove into the mailbox and front ditch. I pulled the suv out and we took the vehicle to the local ford dealer due to this concern and recall 14v284000. The steering unit had failed as claimed in the recall issued by ford, however they claim since it was checked a year and a half ok it is no longer covered. This is the recalled part that failed and it was never replaced just checked. They are trying to charge me $800 for the torque sensor which failed. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired free of charge. Updated 05/26/2017 *js |
