Description of the problem | While vehicle was in motion the power steering went out, almost causing total loss of control of car. If the driver, my son, wasn't an athlete and very strong, this could have been a very serious accident. After paying $135 for a diagnostic, was told that there was a faulty steering angle sensor. The vehicle was manufactured in march and we were told by ford that only escapes manufactured after september were eligible for a recall for this specific problem. We were given a case for review - cas13810835 - from ford but were told that they would not help pay for the $557. 49 bill (in addition to the $135). We were also told that there have been many complaints and to save our receipts just in case ford expands the recall. |
