Model Year | 2010 |
File date | 23/01/19 |
Component | STEERING |
Product type code | VEHICLE |
Description of the problem | Vehicle steering first failed while driving at 45 mph. A power on/off restart of the vehicle restored power sterring once. 4 days later, steering failed as the vehicle was powered on with a "power steering failure" (or similar) message on the center dash. This behavior is extremely similar to the behavior that recall 14s05 was supposed to fix, but the ford and the dealer is claiming the software update done in 2014 was sufficient and won't honor additional repairs. I strongly think nhtsa and ford need to do an additional recall. |
