Description of the problem | My 2010 ford escape was part of recall 14s05 which dealt with the sudden loss of power steering. I was notified of this recall in 2014 when i had no problem with the power steering but after receiving the notice, i took the vehicle to the local ford dealership where they reprogrammed the pscm. The power steering actually failed this year while my wife had the vehicle out of town. It was necessary to remove and replace the steering column at a cost of $1265. 43 which ford refuses to pay even though this repair is specifically listed in the original recall. Had i not taken the vehicle to the dealership when i first received the notice, the cost would have been covered. The steering failed while driving and making a turn on a side street. I can provide all relevant documentation. |
