Description of the problem | On 2 occasions my 2010 ford escape lost throttle power while driving. This has happened once while starting to accelerate and once while driving 45 mph. The yellow toolbar lights up on the instrument panel and the car essentially loses power and i'm unable to drive forward. After further investigation we need to replace the throttle body which cost $345 (not covered by warranty and no recall). In my opinion this should be a recalled part considering how common this problem appears to be and more importantly the extremely dangerous position it leaves you on the road when the throttle body fails. |
