Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph and making a turn, the vehicle began to decelerate without warning. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road where the engine was turned off. Upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normally. The failure recurred nine times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they informed the contact that the electronic throttle body would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the part was on back order until october 26, 2013. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000. |
