Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford escape. The contact stated that the check engine indicator kept randomly flashing and the vehicle was running hot. An independent mechanic provided a coolant pressure check and found coolant in the reservoir. The mechanic stated that the head gasket was cracked and the compression sensor may need to be replaced. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v209000 (engine and engine cooling). The dealer (north bay ford, 1999 soquel ave, santa cruz, ca 95062, (831) 457-5858) repaired the vehicle, but the failure recurred the next day. The contact also stated that the thermostat was not regulating the heat and the coolant level was fluctuating. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
