Description of the problem | Vehicle erratically displays overheating visual and audible alarm during motion or stationary. After vehicle is turned off for a few seconds, alarms go off and temperature gage returns to normal operating temperature. Check engine light on for a while, then off, then back on. Drove to ford dealer for service (didn't notice any performance issues), and they state that the engine needs to be replaced, because of a crack in the coolant resevoir, and coolant is getting into cylinder #3. I don't know how these are related. I have never noticed a coolant leak or steam/smoke in the exhaust. |
