Description of the problem | My 2014 ford escape se, 1. 6l ecoboost suv. Has a very difficult time restarting when gas is filled at the gas station. The car needs to be reved and then put into drive immediately or it will stall. Once the car has run for about 30 seconds the car will normalize and no longer turn off until the next fill up. This is very dangerous as there have been times when the car has turned off on me while i was attempting to enter an intersection right after the aforementioned procedure. From what i've gathered this is an issue ford has with the focus model. The issue being the purge valve being stuck and causing to much vacuum in the system. If the gas level gets to low the car will start shuttering and wanting to stall. Additionally, there is a high pitched noise that is coming from the gas fill cap area. This happens when the gas is about a 1/4 of a tank full. |
